Literary & Cultural Affairs

The Literary and Cultural Affairs Committee promotes intellectual welfare and cultural activities such as encouraging learning of the Malay language, educational projects and maintaining the library at the Padang. The committee also organizes and presents cultural song and dance performances to showcase the Sri Lankan Malay arts and culture at SLMA events such as the Pasar Malam and Pesta Melayu, events organized by sister Malay associations and national events. Training the Angklung orchestra is another important activity of the Literary and Cultural Affairs Committee.
