Women’s Affairs

A key fundraising arm of the Sri Lanka Malay Association, the Women’s Affairs Committee spearheads key annual events of the SLMA such as the Pesta Melayu (cultural shows), Pasar Malam (hawker street styled food fiesta), Malay Rallies and other fundraising projects. The Women’s Affairs Committee also promotes camaraderie among the membership and plays a key role in recruiting new members through various membership drives. 

Flagship Activities

• Hari Raya celebrations at Muslim orphanages where children are hosted to a tea party, fun games and activities. Donations are also made to the orphanages during Hari Raya.
• Annual picnic for SLMA members and families. 
• Marketing and sale of the Resipi Makanan Melayu – Traditional Sri Lankan Malay Recipe book.
